Hi boob enthusiasts,

ALL of the proceeds from our show on October 12 will be donated to the Breast Cancer Research Foundation!!

In the United States, 1 in 8 women will develop invasive breast cancer during her lifetime. Breast cancer is the second leading cause of cancer death in women. Last year, nearly 40,000 women lost their battle with breast cancer. Though the mortality rate has decreased in the last twenty years, the numbers are still too high. Thanks to funded research from groups like the Breast Cancer Research Foundation, there are about 2.6 million breast cancer survivors in the United States today. The BCRF is an independent, non-profit organization whose mission is to achieve prevention and a cure for breast cancer. Since 1993, the BCRF has raised over $350 million to benefit breast cancer research. Help us help the BCRF… all you need to do is show up! Admission will be only $5, but we will also be accepting donations in any denomination.

C U on 9/28 or 10/12… or maybe even both. :D

DBI’s Summer Finale

Sadly, summer will be ending soon. In the near future, we’ll be back in the classroom, back in itchy, turtleneck sweaters, and back to darkness at 5 PM. But we didn’t let that keep us down this past weekend; DBI made sure to celebrate.

On Friday, the 10th, we held our monthly show at SMSTC in Parlin. We had a really impressive turn out. We welcomed Andrew into the troupe and celebrated the life of Mick. Our Summer Improv Foundations class kicked off the night, and they did AWESOME. I can’t wait to see some of their faces (and possible news ones) back for our Fall Improv Foundations course. We’ll keep you posted as to when those classes will be starting.

You think we’d be all improv-ed out from such a great Friday night, but you’re wrong. The next day, we had another show down in Clementon for the South Jersey Comedy Arts Festival. We had a razzle-dazzle day. We met some hilarious new friends, saw some hilarious old friends, Tim and Hochman ate manly food, and we had a pretty good set… all the troupes did. Thank you so much to Second Place Champions for having us and for holding the event. Also, big congrats to our friends in Rintersplit for taking home the gold!

Overall, it was a great weekend filled with lots of laughing and loads of fun. Can’t wait to see you all in September for our monthly show at the home base. :)

PS: Here’s us in Clementon!

Our Oscar Speech:

We had an awesomely great time last night. Thank you to the abundant audience for coming out, participating, and laughing. Thank you to Villager’s Theatre for giving us this opportunity and holding such a fun event. And of course, thank you so much to the students! The nineteen of you did an outstanding job during the intensive and on stage, and now you all have a little bit of improv in your back pockets to keep around at all times. We’d also like to thank the Academy, Eric Violette (the singer), and Mom and Dad.

If you haven’t already seen/didn’t know…
