The Troupe – Mick Murtha
You could say Mick Murtha joining Death By Improv was a long time coming. After all, prior to joining the troupe, Mick was probably one of DBI’s most devoted fans, frequently offering his own inane suggestions and excitedly raising his hand to be an audience volunteer, only to be bitterly disappointed at being a set of arms once again. Mick is five feet nine inches tall with brown hair and hazel eyes. He lives in the United States.
Despite being relatively new to DBI, Mick is no stranger to the stage. Past roles include the letter W in some kindergarten show whose name escapes him, Teddy Brewster in Arsenic & Old Lace, and series of ensemble characters in My Fair Lady, each with a worse cockney accent than the last.
In addition to DBI, Mick is also a founding member/writer/performer for Very Incredible Movie Theater 4, a movie riffing team which has performed with DBI on several occasions. Since joining DBI, Mick has traveled with the team to the North Carolina Comedy Arts Festival, where he attended workshops held by Zach Ward (DSI/Improv Boston) and Megan Grey (The Magnet).
