So just a few days back I posted the info for our next show at the Main Street Theater. As awesome DBI is, we’ve figured out a way to make our show AWESOMERER. Y’see, we have some very special guests coming in for our show on September 28: from the mythical land of the Jersey Devil and Taylor Ham comes South Jersey’s Reigning Kings of Improv, the Second Place Champions. So now, you not only have DBI’s particular brand of joyful irreverence, you’ll also get SPC’s…other…brand of…irreverence. And it’s all for the low low price of 5.00.
So, in closing, DBI+SPC=the ABCs….of COMEDY*
Autumn is a wonderful time of year. All the beautiful flowers and leaves, which he hoped and prayed we one day would see again during the long, bitter winter, are going to die and clog your gutters. You’ll develop severe back trouble from removing the remnants of the “foliage” (or, more accurately, “crumbly brown death”). And of course, autumn means the leaf blower is in full effect, creating one of the least pleasant sounds in the known universe (though, admittedly, I’ve listened to very little Kreayshawn)…
. The whole season reminds me of Longfellow:
“And the mother gave, in tears and pain,
The flowers she most did love;
She knew she should find them all again
In the fields of light above.
O, not in cruelty, not in wrath,
The Reaper came that day;
‘Twas an angel visited the green earth,
And took the flowers away. ”
Also, pumpkins are delicious.
Anyway, DBI is celebrating autumn with improv, in our regular show at the Main Street Theater at Garden Friends in Parlin. Tickets are 5.00, as usual, and we promise The Reaper (probably) won’t be there.
